Sridhar,

The best solution would be to purchase SQL Server 2008 R2 for Small Business (of course, there is an expense for this). If you are looking for a free solution, check out SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition. In 2008 R2, they have increased the database size restriction from 4GB to 10GB.

Best wishes,
John R. Pattison

Now my Nav consultant saying our server is with SQL 2005 Express edition and we need to upgrade as it is having space limitation. While checking this blog you mentioned SBS 2008 premium comes with SQL 2008/2005 standard. Please guide me does SQL 2008 will solve our space issue ? If so how to upgrade SQL 2008 without any additional expense ?

How does one install additional CALs in SBS 2008. Microsoft wants $259 to let the secret out?!!? I found info that one does not need to install nor activate additional CALs, however MS rep did not confirm.

Hi Robert,

Take a look at this post: www.johnrpattison.com/.../windows-small-b

In there, I mention how to do this...

# Installing trusted certificate on client computers

    * From a domain-joined computer, go to \\sites\public\downloads and download/extract "Install Certificate Package.zip"

    * From a non-domain joined computer, download "Install Certificate Package.zip" and copy to a USB key or CD

    * This package will also deploy your certificate to mobile devices via ActiveSync

Best wishes,
