Security update released for Macromedia Flash Player
Nov 7, 2005
Being a Microsoft-centric development shop, we usually don’t blog about security updates. This is primarily due to the fact that Microsoft makes patching easy (and usually automatic) via Windows Update and Microsoft Update.
That being said… on Friday, a bug was announced in the Macromedia Flash Player, which is installed on most computers. This bug can allow someone to gain full control over your computer and the files on it. This bug affects Flash Player version 7 and below.
Updating is easy, just go to:http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflash
FolderShare – Wow this is neat!
Nov 4, 2005
I learned about FolderShare a few months ago from another person’s blog (sorry, I don’t remember who). It appeared to be a really neat service, but you could only synchronize a limited amount of information for the free account. The prices for the paid accounts were reasonable, but not something I felt necessary.
Yesterday, Microsoft announced that they purchased Foldershare, and that they plan to integrate it into their new Microsoft Live offering. The best part of this is that it is now ABSOLUTELY FREE!!
So what does FolderShare do, you ask? You simply load Foldershare on any computer that has files you want to More >
Free Visual Studio e-Learning
Nov 2, 2005
With the public release of Visual Studio 2005 only 5 days away, there’s no better time to get up to speed on the latest and greatest. One of the easiest ways to do this is at the Microsoft eLearning Site. For a limited time, through November 8, you can get free access to the Visual Studio 2005 courses. It just doesn’t get any easier than that! Act quick though, because it looks like after November 8 you’ll have to start dishing out for these puppies.
